In addition to catering to our longtime customers in the structural fabrication community, we also serve bridge building, oil & gas, solar, communications and utilities, offshore wind and marine.
Bridges
The world’s first steel-truss bridge is The Eads Bridge, completed on July 4, 1874. It spanned the Mississippi River allowing St. Louis, MO. access to nearby East St. Louis, IL. Infra-Metals works with many bridge fabricators throughout the United States and is a member of the Short Span Steel Bridge Alliance. We have also worked on several projects utilizing built-up press-brake-formed tub girders that can span over 100ft. while reducing over fabrication time to completion. Steel tub girder use is becoming more widely adopted over other superstructure types in areas such as stiffness, span ranges and durability.
Communications and Utilities
Infra-Metals and Delta Steel cater to the communications and utilities industries through the distribution of structural steel. We have long partnerships with fabricators who create press brake formed and tapered mono poles. The structures can be found all over the country and are designed to accommodate a variety of communication applications such as wireless and microwave equipment.
Marine
Infra-Metals and Delta Steel offer marine grade steel plate that meet ASTM, ABS (American Bureau of Shipbuilding). We offer blasted and prime services in house to ship just-in-time for projects such as barge and ship repair. Ordinary-Strength ABS steel is produced in various grades including, ABS Grades A, B, D and E. Our strategically located warehouses offer easy shipment to shipyards in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Southern and Gulf of Mexico states. We don’t stop with plate. Many of our structural members can be found in marine vessels serving several purposes. Additionally we have successfully supplied structural steel for cruise terminals and port expansions.
Oil & Gas
Oil & Gas is probably the most diverse industry in terms of products and services used in the development of the end product. Both oil & gas is extracted from onshore and offshore reservoirs using similar drilling techniques and equipment to locate and harvest the natural resource. The harvesting process is divided into three major sectors; Upstream, Midstream and Downstream. Each of these sectors use multiple products in various grades to fabricate equipment for the exploration, production, transportation, storage, process and refining of the end product. We provide a broad and diverse range of steel products for both onshore and offshore oil and gas applications as well as processing services such as saw cutting, t-splitting, plasma & oxy-fuel cutting, rolling, forming, CVN testing and impact testing. Typical steel products used are structural beam, MBQ, tubing, pipe (welded & seamless), plate, sheet, bar grating offered in a very comprehensive selection of sizes and grades.
Renewable Energy
The renewable energy market in largely comprised of solar and wind farms, with an ever increasing investment in offshore wind by state and local governments. We serve these industries through many different products including but not limited to wide flange beams, hss steel (hollow structural sections) and a variety of steel plates and grades. Our commitment to these industries can be found in many projects across the country such as solar farms and solar canopies, as well as in offshore projects in the Gulf of Mexico.
